What makes your business unique?

Let’s face it, auto repair shops are a dime a dozen. They’re on every corner, and even conveniently located where we buy our groceries and and clothes. If you want to compete, you’ve got to be different. But how?

There are lots of options. You could be…

  • the honest place
  • the cheap place (never!)
  • the place for men, or women, or families
  • the place for foreign cars
  • the quick place
  • the convenient place
  • …or maybe it’s you that makes your business unique

You get the idea. There are lots of options, some better than others, but you’ve got to figure out who you are. If you’re focused on being everything, you’re not going to be anything.

Once you figure out what makes your business different than the rest, make sure everybody knows it. Find a creative way to say it, and say it over and over. Make sure everyone who comes in knows what it is that makes your auto repair shop special. Put it on all your signs, invoices, shirts, floor mats, calendars, etc. Make people sick of hearing it.
